Banana Yogurt: Mix a mashed banana with homemade yogurt.
Apple Yogurt: Mix 3 tablespoons plain yogurt with 2 tablespoons applesauce. Place ingredients in a blender and puree. Any fruit puree may be used.
Carob Yogurt: Mix 2 tablespoons plain yogurt with 1 teaspoon carob powder (8 months). Sprinkle carob over yogurt, mix and serve.
Yogurt Ice: Mix yogurt with any fruit puree in season and pour into ice cube trays. Partially freeze then add sticks; freeze until firm. (Keep a close eye on the sticks and take as soon as baby finishes.)
Wheat Germ Breakfast: (Don’t give wheat germ to babies under 6 months): 1 tablespoon wheat germ, 2 tablespoons plain yogurt, 1 teaspoon maple syrup, 1 tablespoon pureed raw apple or mashed banana.
Mix all ingredients together and serve.
Note: Yogurt can be made with whole milk, skim milk, nonfat dry milk,
evaporated milk, even soybean milk.
